There is about 0% chance we use a CBO on Staal. Also about 0% we ever buy him out.

1. He is the only center Rod trusts to play center. Heck rod still doesn’t think Aho is a center.
2. He is our only dependable FO winner
3. He is PK bedrock.

Overpaid or not he is here to stay.

With that being said, I doubt Williams is back. We’ll probably see McGinn and Foegele on the third line. I would like to see us move Dzingel and Gardiner to free up more space for a top 6.

Niedereiter may be the most skilled, but I like Foegele's hustle and skating, and Dzingle is a mystery to me!
If they were to make a trade, what is the likely skills they would look for?
Thanks for the hockey FIX...been pretty bored forEVER!!

Here is what I see, Niederreiter is what he is, a hot or cold big body that plays medium. He is mostly cold and really can easily be replaced. I would like to see Foegele in the top six simply because he brings it every game and would be interesting to see if he could produce in a top six. He seems to be pegged a third liner but I say give the lad a chance. Dzingel is a third liner imo.

Foegele is a power forward who throws his body around and creates space for the rest of his line but has very little scoring touch. He would be good for Necas and VT creating space but would probably frustrate them with his shots off net and fumbled passes. I think Nino overall would be a better fit with occasional stretches when Nino is cold throwing Foegele in to shake things up on the second line.

Svechnikov - Aho - Teravainen
Niederreiter - Trochek - Necas
Foegele - Staal - McGinn
Dzingle - Geekie - Martinook

I just have a hard time seeing Williams coming back AGAIN, especially coming back and still being effective.

I'd also like to see one of McGinn or Martinook gone for a more skilled player on that side, but suspect Dzingle will be traded first.
